A 36 year veteran of the banking industry, Richard brings deep experience in commercial banking, credit administration, and SBA lending to the Venturus team. Throughout his career, he has specialized in commercial loan underwriting and credit analysis, with immense expertise in SBA 7(a), SBA 504, and USDA Business & Industry lending programs.

Richard has worked with community and regional banks across both Florida and Wisconsin, serving as a commercial lender and credit underwriter in various markets throughout Florida and Wisconsin, including Tampa Bay, Milwaukee, Hudson, Appleton, Wausau, and River Falls. His background spans business development, credit risk management, and structuring financing solutions for small and middle-market businesses.

Originally from Lexington, Kentucky, Richard spent much of his early life in Florida and attended the University of Florida before completing his degree in Business Administration from Lakeland University. He has also completed advanced training through the Graduate School of Commercial Lending at Southern Methodist University, the Florida School of Commercial Lending, and coursework in Forensic Accounting at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.

A strong believer in community service, Richard has been active in Rotary and United Way organizations throughout his career. He and his wife, Bobbie, reside in Bradenton, Florida where, in his spare time, enjoys walking, reading, golf, following the Florida Gators, and spending time with the family’s Shih Tzu.
