Juan joined the Venturus team after spending almost 9 years at Ridgestone/Byline Bank, a top SBA volume lender, where he began as a junior credit analyst – preparing loan modifications for loans in closing. A year later, he was promoted to Underwriter, where he spent 5 years developing and honing his analytical skills. Juan has developed an expertise underwriting a wide range of industries – simple and complex – and is well versed in 7(a) underwriting, along with the SBA 504 and USDA B&I loan programs.
As a rising talent in the industry, Juan was recognized for his productivity multiple times, earning the “Top Performer” award four times. Then, after exclusively underwriting for 5 years, Juan was promoted to Underwriting Manager, where he managed and coached 6 to 8 analysts with varying levels of experience. In that role, he was instrumental in ensuring that his team delivered exceptional customer service and quality work with a focus on efficiency – something he intends to replicate with Venturus.
Juan can easily relate to our small business customers because he grew up in a small restaurant business that his parents still own and operate today. He has a deep understanding and appreciation for the effort and dedication it takes to be successful owning and running a small business.
In his spare time, Juan enjoys long distance bike rides (e.g., Chicago to Milwaukee) and spending time in the City of Chicago. He especially enjoys attending Cubs games!
